WAYS TO SERVE

As a volunteer driven organization, we rely on the time, talent, and resources that our community can provide. We always welcome volunteer support! As a small organization, we depend on volunteers to staff the museum and assist with collections and clerical work, as well as our youth workshops. Our volunteers learn the fascinating history of the Elizabeth Islands, develop skills, and meet new people. Our positions provide flexible hours and a pleasant, ever-changing environment. For students with community service requirements, or anyone looking to enhance their professional skills, this experience looks good on college applications and resumes!

Docents receive training and on-going support while working. Must enjoy working with the public and have an interest in Cuttyhunk history. Shifts are typically 2-3 hours. Age 16 and older, please.

Collections

Input information into our collections management database. Volunteers must be comfortable with learning new software, be detail-oriented, and comfortable asking questions.

For consistency and planning, we prefer a minimum of two hours per week for all positions, but any volunteer time is welcome!

CHS President's
Volunteer Service Awards

CHS could not function without its volunteers, and we cherish them all. Each year the CHS President celebrates a devoted volunteer’s involvement by awarding them CHS’s Volunteer Service Award.
